I did it again, was up in the fucking early morning. – For visiting cranes.
While waiting for the sunrise the sky looked like this for a very short time.

Birdsky

Moments before the Sun rises on the horizon first masses of cranes getting airborne, leaving the lakes around heading towards feeding-places around. They fly some km to harvested field to feed and come back in the evening. It took half an hour before all cranes left the place.
Currently more than 100.000 cranes and countless of goose’s roost here for a few weeks before moving on south for overwinter survival.

Getting up early in the morning at 5:30 for arriving in Linum before Sunset is somewhat taxing. But coming to this scene with the air full of the voices of geese and cranes really compensates this.

Its slightly different illuminated during the Festival of Lights in Berlin, an Event where lots of buildings around Berlin are illuminated by colors, images and animations. Its a free festival which takes place every year for around 2 Weeks.

This is an wonderful alley, street “Amundsenstrasse” in Potsdam. It leads to Potsdam-Eiche and Potsdam-Golm.
Unfortunately its quiet busy so its rather hard to find a moment to take a picture. I would *really* enjoy some fog in there, but, you cant wish for everything.

If you ever wondered how it feels being in the perspective of the “prey” of a common kestrel. This female hovers over the typical peeing place of mice, waiting for them to come. Kestrels can see light in the UV-spectrum. And mice-pee is glowing awesome in UV. So. Imagine: You go to your favourite tree to relieve yourself and a giant bird first watches you for a while, then just eats you.

This is the National monument of the German Campaign (against Napoleon; 1810) in Berlin, ontop of the “Kreuzberg”.

The highest “mound” in Berlin, the “Kreuzberg”, is 66m high and is coated with the Viktoriapark which was built somewhere around 1815 by Herrmann Mächtig. On top there is a national monument of the German Campaign (against Napoleon).

I was cycling today. Visiting the abandoned Airport “Tempelhofer Freiheit” is always relaxing. I was kind of suprised to come across 4 Common Kestrels (Falco tinnunculus). I spend quite some time watching them.
